President’s Blog: Continued Expansion and Online Growth

Here at Ren’s Pets, we take pride in the unmatched service that we provide to Canadian pet parents and professionals. From our ongoing retail expansion to our continued online growth, we strive to keep evolving and elevating the quality service that we provide to our loyal customers. 

This summer, Ren’s Pets opened four new locations in a mere six weeks and we’re proud to announce that we have officially expanded our retail operations outside of Ontario with three new locations in the Maritimes. Stores opened in Halifax, Dartmouth and Dieppe with our fourth being in Kingston, ON, totaling 26 stores across Canada to-date. Between July and September, we held tent sales at our Guelph, Oakville, Ajax and Waterdown locations. Our tent sales are something we look forward to each summer, as we love being able to bring amazing offers, exciting new products and fun events to our loyal customers in different communities!   

August was Dogust at Ren’s Pets and we celebrated by raising funds for our national charity of choice, OVC Pet Trust. Part of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), University of Guelph, OVC Pet Trust is Canada’s first charitable fund that is entirely dedicated to the health and well-being of companion animals. We truly believe that our four-legged family members deserve the best care possible, and we are pleased to say we helped raise over $20,000 for OVC Pet Trust this year! All proceeds from select Bosco & Roxy’s cookies sold during the month of August went towards OVC Pet Trust, and customers were also able to donate in-store and online. Thank you to all our amazing and supportive customers for making this happen again this year! I’m also pleased to say that Ren’s AutoShip service is now offered across Canada, making it easier than ever for pet parents to purchase their furry friend’s favourite products. Through this convenient online subscription service, we’re thrilled to be able to help pet parents ensure that they never run out of the products their pets love and need again. When you find a product on our website that you’d like to subscribe to, all you need to do is select the AutoShip option and choose your preferred frequency for automatic delivery. Pet parents can manage their AutoShip preferences at any time, and now all subscriptions will receive 5% off recurring orders. 

In addition to expanding our AutoShip offering across Canada, I’m happy to introduce our new Click & Collect program. Also available at all our locations nationwide, our Click & Collect service allows pet parents to shop online and quickly collect their purchases in-store. With no extra charge and orders typically ready for pick-up within two hours, this service is a great solution for pet parents who are strapped for time. 

While it was a very busy summer here at Ren’s, the dedication that our staff shows day in and day out to creating healthy and happy pets makes tackling challenging projects much easier. We truly believe that pets are family, and it’s greatly rewarding to know that our team is committed to providing our loyal customers with the products and services for your pet’s best life.
